Gov. Sule appeals to striking workers to return to work

Governor Abdullah Sule of Nasarawa State, has appealed to workers in the three state-owned tertiary Institutions currently on strike to suspend their Strike and resume work in the interest of the state.

Governor Sule, spoke through his Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Peter Ahemba, during the government’s Monthly Media briefing at the NUJ Press Center in Lafia,

The governor, who expressed readiness to negotiate with the striking workers towards amicable resolutions of issues surrounding the strike, charged the Workers to embrace dialogue at the expense of the strike for the interest of the State.

He said already discussion is already ongoing; however, it will be better for the Workers to call off the Strike and allow both parties to sit and find a solution to address their demands.

On the recent decision of the State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress Party to adopt a consensus arrangement, Governor Abdullahi Sule said the arrangement was done in good faith, adding that it will avoid tension and enable the Party to have peaceful Congresses in the State.

The governor however explained that the Consensus arrangement does not extend to those aspiring for elective positions in 2027, added that individuals and groups are presently agitating and consultating for a zoning arrangement, especially on the governorship seat of the State, assuring that when the time come, the Party will always do the needful for the purpose of sustaining the Party unity and success in future elections.

He also assured that his administration is doing everything possible to address issues of insecurity in the State and urged citizens of the area to be security conscious and report any security breaches to law enforcement agencies for prompt action.
