Grief in Guma: Woman, three sons killed in late-night attack

Four members of the same family have reportedly been killed in a fresh midnight attack by armed invaders on the Imande community in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.


It was gathered that the victims, a woman and her three sons, were allegedly shot dead around 2 a.
m. on Tuesday at Imande Dem settlement along Gbajimba Road in Uvir Council Ward.

Residents said the family was asleep when the attackers stormed their home.
Locals further revealed that the family had previously lost their patriarch in a similar attack on the community.
A witness, who spoke on condition of anonymity, disclosed that a young boy believed to be the only survivor sustained gunshot injuries during the incident and is currently undergoing surgery to remove bullets.
The Chairman of Guma LGA, Orwough Maurice, could not be reached for comments as his phone line was unavailable at the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Udeme Edet, stated that she had not yet received any report of the incident but promised to verify and provide updates after making necessary inquiries. (Daily Trust, excluding headline)
