Gunmen seize fully loaded fuel tanker along Dangote–Ijebu Ode Road

Bandits have hijacked a white Howo fuel tanker with registration number ABN 582 XB along the Dangote–Ijebu Ode Road in Ogun State.
Information reaching News Express indicates that the assailants intercepted the fully loaded tanker at gunpoint shortly after a tollgate. The vehicle, bearing the inscription “HIGHWAY” in green colour, was conveying about 60,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS).

The incident occurred at about 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2026. The tanker is owned by HIGHWAY OIL & GAS LTD.
In a statement, the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Chief Ndubuisi Osele, appealed to members of the public with information on the whereabouts of the tanker to contact him on 0803 316 7199. He assured that a handsome reward would be offered for any information that leads to the recovery of the vehicle.
