ICDA Raises Alarm Over Unauthorized Use of Name and Secretariat Address
The Igala Cultural and Development Association (ICDA) has alerted the general public, stakeholders, and all well-meaning members of the Igala nation to the activities of a group operating under the name Igala Centre for Development Advocacy (ICDA).
The association noted that the group has deliberately adopted the acronym “ICDA,” which is already widely known and historically linked to the Igala Cultural and Development Association.
Additionally, the group has been using Igala Unity House, Anyigba as its address. The building has served as the National Secretariat of the ICDA since its establishment and remains under the association’s custody.
According to the association, these actions appear to be aimed at creating confusion, misleading the public, and possibly taking advantage of the reputation and credibility built by the ICDA over the years.
The Igala Cultural and Development Association clearly stated that it has no affiliation, connection, or relationship with the group known as Igala Centre for Development Advocacy (ICDA). It emphasized that any claims, statements, activities, or representations made by the group should not be linked to or associated with the association.
The ICDA reaffirmed its position as the leading socio-cultural organization committed to the unity, progress, and development of the Igala people, highlighting its longstanding reputation for integrity, transparency, and dedicated service.
The association urged the public, government agencies, partners, traditional institutions, and the media to exercise caution and ensure that all official engagements or communications meant for the ICDA are directed through its verified channels.
It further disclosed that steps are being taken to address the situation and safeguard the association’s identity, integrity, and legal standing.
Members of the public were advised to disregard any unauthorized use of the ICDA acronym or any misleading representation by the group.
The association expressed appreciation for the continued trust, support, and cooperation of its stakeholders.
