The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has stated that it has not released any timetable or schedule of activities for the 2027 general election.
In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Adedayo Oketola, the Commission explained that Section 28(1) of the Electoral Act, 2022, provides that INEC shall publish a notice of election not later than 360 days before the date appointed for the election.

The statement stressed that any timetable issued outside the statutory framework did not emanate from the Commission.
It further noted that whenever the Commission releases the official timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general election, it will be communicated through INEC’s verified channels.
