The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has attributed the delay in the release of results for Kuje Area Council in last Saturday’s FCT Area Council Election to the difficult terrain in Kabi Ward.
In a statement, INEC commended residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for their peaceful conduct during the election.

The commission acknowledged that some voters experienced challenges locating their designated polling units. However, it clarified that contrary to claims in some quarters, voters were not migrated to new polling units different from their original ones.
INEC stated categorically that no voter was moved, explaining that the split polling units are situated just a few meters away from the original polling units within the same premises.
The commission further explained that it displayed the Register of Voters at designated centres and split polling units four days before the Area Council election to allow voters confirm their details and polling unit locations. It also noted that text messages were sent to affected voters.
INEC expressed appreciation to the electorate in the FCT for their cooperation and active participation throughout the electoral process.
