As the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) commences its renewed voter registration exercise, the Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State, Engr. Kefas Danlami Kaura, has called on residents of the state and Nigerians at large to seize the opportunity and register ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Engr. Kaura emphasized that massive mobilization for voter registration will not only equip citizens with the necessary tools to participate in the elections but also empower them to decide who is truly qualified and prepared to serve the people.

“We have to take our destiny in our hands in 2027, and this can only be achieved when prospective voters equip themselves with their voter cards. The time has come for us to stand up and challenge those who have brought hardship and impoverishment on Nigerians through bad policies and unfulfilled promises,” Kaura said.

He further declared: “Nobody will cheat us of our votes again. We are ready this time. Let us build our strength on facts, measured and matched by action. It is not enough to claim you are from Nasarawa when your policies exclude a large section of the state.”

The PDP Secretary urged residents, particularly supporters of the party, to participate fully in the registration exercise and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). He noted that the PDP is already attracting more members across the state.

Kaura also reminded citizens that voter registration is both a civic duty and a constitutional right as provided in Section 77(2) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), which entitles every Nigerian aged 18 and above to be registered as a voter.

He appealed to traditional rulers, religious leaders, community leaders, youth organizations, and women groups across the 13 local government areas of Nasarawa State to mobilize their members to registration centres to ensure no eligible voter is left behind.

According to him, the PDP is fully prepared to ensure that all eligible voters are comprehensively registered ahead of the 2027 elections.
