Int’l Youth Day Celebration: I am Nigeria Movement, Mezurashi extol the strength of the Nigerian Youth

A Non Governmental Organisation, I am Nigerian, in partnership with Mezurashi a clothing brand has applauded the impact of the Nigerian youth in spite of daunting challenges.

The organisers of the event made this known in Abuja on Saturday at an event organised to commemorate the International Youth Day, which is marked annually on August 12.

In her speech, the Founder of the I am Nigeria Movement, Mrs Ismah Ekpo Alade Founder of I am Nigeria Movement commended Nigerian youths who had continued to demonstrate their firm belief in the Nigerian project.

She said “every Nigerian is a builder and our destiny is not written in despair but in determination. This is our collective voice.”

On the mission and vision of the organisation, the founder said, “The “I am Nigeria” project was set up to reawaken the virtue of patriotism in Nigerians.

” It is a national reawakening and a movement to remind us that being Nigerian is a blessing and a calling to stand tall and build together.

“This is a movement established to restore pride, hope and unity amongst our citizens especially our youths; reminding every Nigerian that the power to build our nation lies within us.”

The Executive Director of One Voice Africa TV and Lead Consultant of the event, Mr Favour Johnson called on Nigerian youths to exhibit patriotism at all times.

He added such patriotism should not only be shown during football matches, concerts or international competitions.

Johnson, who also spoke on behalf of Mezurashi, further noted that Mezurashi was founded to ensure that young Nigerians communicated effectively through culture and fashion among other things.

He urged the youths to ” stand up responsibly for what is right.
“Build yourself, build your ideas, build your business, build your community and ultimately help build your country”.

He called on Nigerian youths to remain resolute adding that the Nigeria dream ” will not arrive one morning as a government announcement.”

Many speakers at the event commended the organisers and urged Nigerian youths to keep up the entrepreneurial spirit.

The event also witnessed various performances by the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria(PMAN).
