Just In: Alleged Contempt — ARC Kabiru Ibrahim, Exco Quizzed Over Further Breach of Court Order

The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Force Intelligence Department (FID), Abuja, has ordered the remand of self-acclaimed AFAN President, Arc. Kabiru Ibrahim, alongside members of his executive council, following allegations of impersonation, criminal intimidation, threat to life, and conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace.

The petition was filed before the FID by the executives led by Dr. Farouk Rabiu Mudi.

Dr. Farouk is seeking the intervention of the FID over the alleged actions, which he says are capable of inciting violence, causing misconduct, breaching public peace, and promoting false reports that continue to disrupt the fragile calm within the All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) since the Court of Appeal judgment delivered in July 2025.

He further accused Kabiru Ibrahim of persistently using the name and title of AFAN President in public gatherings, online platforms, and on television, despite being declared an impostor by the court.

The latest development follows what has been described as a continued violation of the Court of Appeal judgment, which dismissed Kabiru Ibrahim’s appeal for a stay of execution, ruling it as lacking merit.

FID operatives were also briefed on an alleged plan by Arc. Kabiru Ibrahim to conduct an illegal election in Karu, organize an agricultural programme, and participate in other federal government intervention schemes while still parading himself as AFAN President.

Others being held for questioning by the FID include Mohammed Magaji Getado—who was declared winner in the alleged kangaroo election held on Wednesday—alongside Femi Oke, who circulated Getado’s image across various social media platforms. Also invited for interrogation are Bassey Iwang, Sadiq Modibo, Daniel Obiora Okafor, Sani Abubakar-Kofarmata, and Alh. Idrith Ya’u Maiunguwa, all accused of violating an existing court order.

The prosecution counsel, led by CP Omale Ola, questioned the motive behind Kabiru Ibrahim’s actions, especially after he had earlier been cautioned during his bail application to desist from presenting himself as AFAN President or participating in any related activities.

One of the individuals currently on the run is Mohammed Magaji Getado, who promptly posted his purported victory on social media and tagged former Minister of Communications, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami — a move said to have triggered unrest and harm within the association.

The alleged offences fall under Section 53(2) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) 2015, and the process for prosecution in court has reportedly been concluded.
