JUST IN: Shooting Stars Assistant Coach, Akin Olowokere, Slumps and Dies During Training

The Assistant Coach of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, Oyo State, Mr. Akin Olowokere, is dead.

Olowokere, who was recently appointed alongside other coaches of the Ibadan-based club, reportedly collapsed during a training session at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Dugbe, Ibadan, according to sources close to the team.

An eyewitness told PUNCH newspaper that the coach “slumped on the pitch during the team’s Monday morning training session and was rushed to the hospital.”

“He was, however, confirmed dead at the hospital where he was taken,” the source added.

As of press time, there has been no official statement from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) or the club’s management regarding the incident.
