Kwali leaders hail Tinubu, Wike as Gomani Road opens new economic corridor.

The Etsu of Kwali, Luka Nizassan III, and the Chairman of the Kwali Area Council, Nuhu Daniel, have commended President Bola Tinubu and the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, for the completion of the Gomani-Dafa-Yangoji Road.

They described the project as a transformative infrastructure development that will boost economic activities, improve security, and enhance access to farming communities across the area.
Speaking with journalists on the sidelines of the inauguration of the project in Dafa, Nizassan described the road as a long-awaited answer to the prayers of the people of Kwali.
He praised President Bola Tinubu and the FCT Minister for responding to the needs of the people, noting that the government had fulfilled a long-standing demand for critical infrastructure.
According to the traditional ruler, the road is one of the oldest routes in the former Abuja Emirate, now the Suleja Emirate, dating back to the colonial era when it served as a major route for tax collection.
He lamented that despite its historical importance, the corridor had suffered decades of neglect, adding that previous administrations and private individuals made unsuccessful attempts to rehabilitate it before the current intervention.
Nizassan said the new road would significantly improve security by making the area more accessible to security agencies, noting that criminals often take advantage of isolated and inaccessible communities.
He also stated that the road would strengthen the local economy by linking Yangoji, Dafa, Gomani and Pai, making it easier for farmers to transport agricultural produce to urban markets.
The traditional ruler urged residents to continue supporting the Tinubu administration, describing governance as a partnership between the government and the people. He also expressed hope that additional projects, including potable water supply and improved school infrastructure, would be delivered to the area.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Kwali Area Council, Nuhu Daniel, described the newly commissioned road as a major breakthrough that would transform the economic and agricultural fortunes of the council and the wider Federal Capital Territory.
Daniel said the improved road network would eliminate the long-standing transportation challenges faced by farmers, enabling them to move their produce more easily while stimulating commercial activities across the area.
He recalled that before the intervention, communities suffered greatly due to a damaged bridge around Tungan Sarki, which was regularly submerged during the rainy season, cutting off entire settlements.
According to him, the seasonal flooding prevented residents from accessing their farms and businesses while also denying many students the opportunity to attend schools in neighbouring communities.
The council chairman said the completion of the road and bridge projects demonstrated the Federal Government’s commitment to delivering President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda through practical infrastructure development.
He expressed confidence that the improved accessibility would attract more investments, create employment opportunities, and encourage more businesses to establish operations within the council.
