LECAN Offers Prayers for Governor Ododo on Birthday, Commends His Transformative Leadership

The Licensed Electrical Contractors Association of Nigeria (LECAN) has offered prayers for continued good health, divine guidance and wisdom for the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ododo, as he marks his birthday, commending his transformative leadership of the state.

In a press statement made available to media organisations, the National President of LECAN, High Chief Vitus Ofodum, prayed that God would guide and protect the governor as he continues to discharge his constitutional responsibilities. He noted that Governor Ododo, one of Nigeria’s youngest governors, has recorded remarkable achievements that compare favourably with those of his contemporaries.
According to Ofodum, since assuming office, Governor Ododo has rolled out impactful initiatives across critical sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare and youth empowerment. He highlighted innovative programmes like the Open Governance Initiative, which has enhanced transparency and strengthened citizen participation in governance.
The LECAN president further stated that the governor’s drive for economic revitalisation has produced landmark interventions, including the NG-CARES initiative, which has provided financial empowerment to communities while supporting infrastructure development. He added that the education sector has witnessed notable improvements through scholarship schemes, establishment of ICT centres and free JAMB registration for students.
Ofodum also noted that Governor Ododo’s commitment to agricultural development has helped address food security challenges by empowering farmers and improving productivity across the state. He said the governor’s proactive security measures, including community-based initiatives and the recruitment of hunters, have contributed to making Kogi State one of the safest in the country.
He added that the administration’s social welfare programmes have helped cushion the effects of economic hardship on residents, while the governor’s grassroots-oriented leadership style has promoted inclusiveness and unity.
Governor Ododo, Ofodum said, has earned several recognitions for his performance, including the ‘Governor of the Year’ award in agriculture. His role within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Progressive Governors Forum has also strengthened unity and cohesion within the party.
As he celebrates his birthday, Governor Ododo has called on Nigerians to continue supporting his vision and the ideals of the Progressive Governors Forum, aimed at promoting quality leadership, transformative governance and shared prosperity.
High Chief Ofodum said the congratulatory message reflects the widespread appreciation of Governor Ododo’s dedication to the development of Kogi State, describing his achievements as clear evidence of effective and purposeful leadership.
