The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has responded to a recent incident involving iconic Nigerian musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

As reported by Citypost, the episode occurred on Tuesday when the artist was reportedly disembarked from a ValueJet aircraft after allegedly breaching established aviation safety procedures.

In a statement signed by FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mrs. Obiageli Orah, the authority confirmed that the passenger attempted to board the flight with a liquid-filled flask, contravening international aviation regulations that restrict carrying liquids over 100ml unless declared for medical purposes.

The statement disclosed that both Aviation Security (AVSEC) personnel and the flight captain warned the passenger about the violation. However, he reportedly declined to comply.

Tensions reportedly escalated when the contents of the flask—later identified as alcohol—were allegedly spilled on a security officer. Despite intervention by the flight captain, the musician was said to have persisted in disregarding instructions.

Following the boarding process, the captain instructed that the aircraft door be shut. It was at this point, FAAN noted, that the passenger proceeded to the front of the aircraft and refused to leave, leading AVSEC’s crime unit to escort him off the plane for further questioning. He was later released.
