NANS SEEKS PROBE INTO ALLEGED FRAUD IN STUDENT LOAN SCHEME

National Association of Nigerian Students NANS has called on security and anti-graft agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the alleged deduction of funds by some school authorities from the Federal Government’s Nigerian Education Loan Fund NELFUND.

NANS President, Comrade Olushola Oladoja, made the call while speaking with newsmen in Abuja, stating that the Association had received numerous complaints from students regarding the allegations.

Comrade Olushola Oladoja said the Association was ready to collaborate with government agencies to ensure that any Vice Chancellor or Rector found culpable is removed and prosecuted accordingly.

He expressed support for the Federal Government’s loan policy, which aims to make higher education accessible and affordable for the less privileged in the country.

The NANS President also stated that the new leadership of the Association would embark on peace missions to campuses across the country, with the aim of fostering a peaceful and conducive learning environment for students.

According to him, the association wiil organize Security summit to profer lasting solutions to insecurity on the campuses nationwide.

He further pledged to collaborate with stakeholders in the education sector and security agencies to ensure watertight security across the nation’s tertiary institutions.
