Nasarawa Governor Sule Departs for South Africa to Attend 2025 G20 Summit

Nasarawa State Governor and Chairman of the North Central Governors’ Forum, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, has departed Abuja for Johannesburg, South Africa, to participate in the 2025 G20 Summit.

His trip follows President Bola Tinubu’s approval for Governor Sule and eight (8) other Governors to be part of the Presidential Delegation to the Summit taking place in Johannesburg.

The 2025 edition, themed “Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability,” is the first G20 Summit to be hosted on African soil and is scheduled for November 22nd to 23rd, 2025.

Ahead of the main sessions, the G20 Social Engagement Groups will begin their breakaway meetings on Wednesday, 19/11/2025.

While in Johannesburg, Engr. Sule will hold meetings with his counterparts from South Africa and other G20 member states.

Upon his return, Governor Sule is expected to present a report along with an Action Plan to the Office of the President, detailing outcomes from the Summit.

The G20 Summit serves as a global platform for economic cooperation, bringing together 19 countries and two regional bodies—the European Union and the African Union—alongside other multilateral institutions.

This year’s discussions will focus on the global economy, trade, sustainable development, climate change, and other key issues.
