NCPC BOSS, BISHOP ADEGBITE, CHARGES PILGRIMS TO LIVE EXEMPLARY LIVES
The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, has called on pilgrims to live lives worthy of emulation. He made this charge on October 2, 2025, at Tabar Hotels, Nazareth, during the official presentation of Jerusalem Pilgrims Certificates to pilgrims from Imo and Abia States, currently participating in the NCPC 2025 delayed Easter Pilgrimage.
Bishop Adegbite stressed that the new title of Jerusalem Pilgrim (JP) must be reflected in the pilgrims’ character and conduct. He noted that society holds great expectations of them, urging them to live up to these expectations and serve as role models.
The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Her Excellency Lady Chinyere Ekomaru, praised the pilgrims for their commendable conduct throughout the 10-day spiritual journey in the Holy Land. She expressed appreciation to Governor Hope Uzodinma for prioritizing the spiritual growth of Imo people and for consistently sponsoring pilgrims to Israel.
She also commended the NCPC for its excellent organization of the pilgrimage, as well as Tabar Tours, the ground handler in Nazareth, for their outstanding service delivery.
In his remarks, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Abia State on Religious Matters, Special Apostle Kenneth Wiper, emphasized that pilgrimage is not just a routine exercise but a profound spiritual journey of faith. He urged the pilgrims to rise above mediocrity and be shining examples for others.
Similarly, the Charge D’Affaires of the Nigerian Embassy in Israel, Mr. Ezekiel Ikwe, applauded the NCPC for the smooth coordination of the pilgrimage and commended the governments of Imo and Abia States for sponsoring their citizens.
The high point of the ceremony was the official presentation of Jerusalem Pilgrims Certificates to all participants by the General Manager of Tabar Tours, Shadia Srour.
