In quest to achieving one trillion dollar economy that is all encompassing, the National Film, and Video Censors Board, NFVCB under the leadership of Dr Shuaibu Hussaini has embarked on giant strides that will equate the activities of the board away from the previous order .

Therefore, two years down the line under his leadership, regulatory, oversights and supervisory roles amongst many other activities of the board has not only been modernized, but transformed in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

With adequate preparations, wealth of experience to create arts economy in the area of films, videos amongst many other vsual or audio visual engagements in line with the best practices and global requirements, the new leadership has engaged in modern and modest innovations in line the prevailing situations, so as to compete favorably with the international best practices.

This is with a view to enhancing its regulatory roles , renewing its programs away from the old archaic order and bringing on board sane policies and programs that will promote not only indigenous films and videos, but inculcate modern ones to drive the country towards the one trillion dollar economy.

Conversely, the new leadership under Shuaibu Hussaini he ensured he left no stone unturned in its drive to achieve the desired objectives , towards not only promoting both local and foreign films , but driving towards education, entertainment and recreating the environment.

Aside meeting the monetary aspects of its regulatory framework, the National Film and Video Censors Board has gradually inculcated indigenous programs that will promote not only local activities in the area of films and videos , but broker economic, social and political salvation of the country.

This is geared towards promoting the country as good ambassadors not only locally , but to the international community, and the world over , particularly in the areas operatio and deployment of its activities in line with the tenets of the board.

Having promoted sane practices, good conducts, best practices from the local to the international sphere , it has also embarked on penalties, sanctions , and outright reprimand on recalcitrant producers who indulge in activities not in tandem with the best practices across the globe .

The glaring moves and operational template adopted by the new management under the leadership of Shuaibu Hussaini in the last few years has restored sanity , probity , policy thrust and performance driven rather than promoting unhealthy programs capable of infusing the environment with unhealthy programs .

With the enabling environment, no doubt, film and video will not only promote the image of Nigeria, but contribute to the growing GDP of the country through attraction of more local and international participants. Written BY ABUBAKAR YUSUF on yus.abubakar3@gmail.com
