Nigeria @66: NCPC Boss Adegbite Celebrates Nation, Hails Tinubu’s Leadership
The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Prof. Stephen Adegbite, has congratulated Nigeria and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on the occasion of the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
Bishop Adegbite, in a statement released in Abuja on 30th September, 2026, said Nigerians have every reason to thank God for attaining 66 glorious years of nationhood.
He explained that Nigeria’s attainment of self-rule on 1st October, 1960, and its steady progress since then, is no mean achievement.
The NCPC Executive Secretary praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for providing quality leadership for Nigeria at a time like this. He urged the President to remain focused and not allow enemies of the state to distract him.
He affirmed that although the country is still faced with a lot of challenges, he remains optimistic that they will be surmounted sooner than later.
Bishop Adegbite called on all Nigerians to join hands with the government to move the country forward.

He also solicited collective prayers for the peaceful conduct of the 2027 general elections, stating that the will of God will surely be done.
He thanked Nigerians for their patience, resilience, perseverance and determination to make Nigeria the best place to live in Africa.
The NCPC helmsman urged Nigerians in the Diaspora to continue to contribute their quota to the development of Nigeria and be part of the economic re-engineering taking place under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Bishop Adegbite congratulated all Nigerians for being alive to witness the 66th Independence Anniversary of the most populous black nation on earth.
