Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has charged members of the PBAT Door-to-Door Campaign Team to intensify grassroots mobilisation and engage directly with residents across the state ahead of the 2027 general elections, expressing confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s electoral prospects in Kogi State.

Governor Ododo gave the charge when he received members of the Team at Government House, Lokoja, where he commended their commitment to mobilising support for the President’s re-election bid. He emphasised that effective political mobilisation must go beyond campaign materials to meaningful engagement with the people at the community level.

The governor urged the coordinators to strengthen teamwork, establish deeper connections with residents and communicate the policies and achievements of the Tinubu administration. He also called for appreciation of the support the state had received from the Federal Government, particularly its contributions to the fight against insecurity.

“This is our time to show appreciation. This is our time to say thank you to Mr President,” Ododo said, while acknowledging the contributions of High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, as well as Engr Matthew Tola and his wife, whom he commended for their support to Kogi State in tackling criminal activities.

The group also announced plans for a rally and the launch of its campaign materials on Monday in Lokoja as part of efforts to strengthen its outreach ahead of the 2027 elections.

Earlier, the National Coordinator of the movement, Sunday Asuku, said the visit was to brief the Governor on the group’s activities and formally inform him of the forthcoming rally.

He explained that the movement intended to take its message directly to residents through door-to-door engagements across communities, streets and settlements, using facts to explain the policies and achievements attributed to the Tinubu administration.

Also speaking, the North Central Coordinator, Ambassador Motowa Victor Opeyemi, reaffirmed the movement’s commitment to mobilising support for President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, noting that the campaign vehicles and other materials would enhance its reach across the state.

In a significant declaration, the State Coordinator of the movement Comrade David Mark Ogwu, stressed that grassroots politics remains central to the group’s mobilisation strategy, declaring: “Politics is local.

In Kogi State, we believe in local politics.” He explained that the state structure already had established political structures extending to polling units, wards and local government areas, providing a foundation for direct engagement with voters.
