Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has congratulated the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, on his re-election, describing the victory as a clear endorsement of good governance and the confidence of the people in the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Media, Ismaila Isah, Governor Ododo said the outcome of the governorship election reflected the satisfaction of Ekiti residents with the performance of the Oyebanji administration and their desire for continuity in governance.

According to the Kogi governor, Oyebanji’s re-election demonstrates the electorate’s appreciation of people-centred leadership, prudent resource management, infrastructural development and inclusive governance.

He noted that the people of Ekiti had chosen stability and sustained development by renewing the governor’s mandate.

“The people of Ekiti State have spoken loudly through the ballot. They have rewarded performance, vision and commitment to service,” Ododo said.

The governor also linked the election outcome to what he described as growing public confidence in the APC, citing the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the performance of APC-led governments across the country.

According to him, Governor Oyebanji’s achievements in key sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and economic development contributed significantly to his re-election.

Ododo described the victory as not only a personal triumph for Oyebanji but also a strong affirmation of public confidence in progressive governance and responsible leadership.

He expressed confidence that the governor’s new term would consolidate on existing gains and deliver greater prosperity for the people of Ekiti State.

The Kogi governor further assured Oyebanji of continued cooperation and partnership between the governments and people of Kogi and Ekiti states, while wishing him wisdom, strength and success in the discharge of his responsibilities.

Oyebanji secured a fresh mandate following the Ekiti governorship election, extending his leadership of the South-West state under the platform of the APC.
