PAAU loses renowned scholar, Prof. Kennie Enojo.

The management of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Professor Kennie Enojo Enojo, a Professor of Political Economy and Director of the Centre for Pre-Degree and Diploma Studies.

He passed away in the early hours of Friday, August 7, 2026, after a prolonged illness.
In a statement, the university described the late Professor Enojo as an accomplished academic, administrator, researcher and intellectual who devoted many years of dedicated service to the growth and development of the institution.
Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, described the death of Professor Enojo as a painful and monumental loss to the university community. He said the deceased was a distinguished scholar, committed administrator and dedicated lecturer whose contributions to the advancement of the university would remain unforgettable.
According to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Enojo, fondly known as “The State,” spent his career pursuing academic excellence and made significant contributions to scholarship and university administration. He noted that the institution would greatly miss his wealth of experience and outstanding service.
Professor Usman extended his condolences to the family of the deceased, the Department of Political Science, the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Centre for Pre-Degree and Diploma Studies, as well as colleagues, students, friends, associates and the entire university community.
He prayed for God to grant the bereaved family and members of the university the strength to bear the irreparable loss, while also praying for the peaceful repose of Professor Enojo’s soul.
Professor Enojo joined the services of Prince Abubakar Audu University as a Graduate Assistant on November 1, 2002. Through dedication and hard work, he rose through the academic ranks and was elevated to the rank of Professor by the University’s Governing Council on October 1, 2023.
