Operatives of the Nigerian Police in Nasarawa State have recorded a major breakthrough in the fight against kidnapping following a coordinated operation that led to the arrest of six suspected kidnappers and the rescue of three abducted victims.

The operation was carried out by operatives attached to the Assakio Division, in collaboration with local vigilante groups, after credible intelligence led to the discovery of the kidnappers’ hideouts in Angara and Fadaman Bauna villages within the Lafia East Development Area of Lafia Local Government Area.

According to the Nasarawa State Police Command, the joint team stormed the hideouts and successfully overpowered the suspects, resulting in the arrest of six individuals believed to be members of a kidnapping syndicate operating in the area.
Three victims—two women and one man—were rescued during the operation.
The victims were reportedly unharmed and were immediately given medical attention before being reunited with their respective families.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the development in a statement made available to journalists in Lafia on Friday.
He commended the synergy between the police and local vigilantes, noting that such collaboration remains critical to dismantling criminal networks across the state.
The Nasarawa State Police Command reassured residents of its commitment to sustaining aggressive patrols and intelligence-led operations to ensure the safety of lives and property.
