Qatar’s Defence Ministry has reported a missile attack on the country as tensions continue to escalate across the region following a U.S.-Israeli strike on Iran.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the ministry confirmed that Qatar had been targeted by incoming missiles, noting that the nation’s air defence systems were actively responding to the threat.

Authorities urged citizens, residents and visitors to remain calm, follow official directives issued by security agencies and refrain from spreading unverified information.
Meanwhile, the Doha-based broadcaster Al Jazeera reported hearing powerful explosions in the skies above the capital city.
As of the time of filing this report, there were no confirmed casualties.
The reported interceptions come amid a continuing large-scale offensive by Israel and the United States against Iran, which began on Saturday. The offensive has reportedly resulted in the deaths of at least 926 people, including Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, and several top military officials.
Iran has since launched retaliatory drone and missile attacks targeting Israel as well as Gulf nations hosting U.S. military installations.
