Reasons FCT Police Command Arrested Abuja Daddy G. O. of “Wells of Salvation” other members
The Nigeria Police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has tracked down the General Overseer of “Wells of Salvation,” Rev. Pastor Prince Bassey Ajah, over his alleged involvement in a child trafficking ring.
Two other church leaders, Nancy Atoo and Deaconess Vera Duru, were also arrested in connection with the disturbing case.
The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Saturday.
She revealed that their arrests were sequel to a distress call received on May 24, 2025, from officials at Wazobia Motor Park in Gwagwalada, Abuja, reporting a man behaving suspiciously while attempting to travel with a young child.
Police officers from the Emergency Response Team swiftly moved to the location and arrested the suspect, identified as Isreal Ajah, who was caught trying to board a vehicle to Owerri, Imo State, with a 7-year-old boy in his custody.
Preliminary investigations uncovered that the child had been handed over to Isreal by his elder brother, Rev. Pastor Prince Bassey Ajah—the General Overseer of Wells of Salvation Church in Byazhin Across, Abuja. This led to the prompt arrest of the pastor and his two alleged accomplices.
A deeper probe into the case revealed even more disturbing details. During a search of Nancy Atoo’s residence, police discovered another victim—a 4-year-old girl known only as “Mercy,” a name given to her by the suspects. No documentation or identification was found with the child, who is now in protective custody while efforts are underway to locate her biological family.
“Further investigation revealed that both children were being trafficked to Owerri for sale,” the police said. The suspects reportedly confessed to the crime, disclosing that 7-year-old Muktar Hassan was to be sold for ₦1.2 million in a deal allegedly arranged by Deaconess Vera Duru.
Thankfully, Muktar has since been safely reunited with his family.
The FCT Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to cracking down on human trafficking and ensuring justice is served. The suspects are expected to face charges as investigations continue.
