Reasons UNIZIK Expelled Female Student for Slapping Lecturer.
The management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, has expelled a female student, Goddy-Mbakwe Precious, over an alleged assault on a lecturer.
This is contained in a statement on Friday by the university’s Acting Registrar, Victor Modebelu.
According to Modebelu, the decision followed the Student Disciplinary Committee’s investigation into the incident involving a lecturer from the Department of Theatre and Film Studies, Dr. Chukwudi Michael Okoye
The committee found Mbakwe guilty of gross misconduct and violating the university’s Student Disciplinary Regulations, specifically Regulation 4.
“In line with the recommendation of the committee, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, on behalf of the University Senate, has approved your expulsion from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka,” the statement read.
The University reaffirmed its commitment to upholding discipline and ensuring a safe and respectful academic environment for students and staff.

The Acting Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Joseph I. Ikechebelu, ordered an impartial investigation to unravel the facts of the altercation between the lecturer and the student.
The Acting Head of Information, Public Relations, and Protocol, Njelita Louis,had in an earlier statement stressed the place of discipline and proper conduct in the institution.
The University’s Spokesman said that the institution would impose the necessary sanction on any party found culpable of improper conduct at the end of the investigation.
He said that the Nnamdi Azikiwe University would always sustain giving the requisite attention to high morals and ethical standards.
