The second batch of Nigerian Christian pilgrims has arrived safely in Amman, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in the early hours of Saturday, January 10, 2026.
The delegation is led by the Chairman of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Rt. Rev. Prof. Monsignor Cletus Gotan.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Deputy Director and Head of Media and Public Relations of the Commission, Celestine Toruka.

The pilgrims, numbering over 500, were drawn from Borno and Bauchi States, as well as consular officials. Upon their arrival in Amman, they were warmly received by the Chairman of Tabar Tours, Nazareth, Israel, Wisam Tabar; the General Manager of Tabar Tours, Shadia Srour; and officials of SkyRise and Uniteam, the designated ground handlers.
The pilgrims are expected to spend a few nights in Jordan before proceeding to Israel to complete their 10-day pilgrimage programme.

It will be recalled that the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission officially commenced the 2025 Main Pilgrimage exercise to Israel and Jordan on December 29, 2025. The first batch of pilgrims successfully concluded their pilgrimage and returned safely to Nigeria on January 8, 2026.
Notably, the Commission has set a new record in the ongoing 2025 Main Pilgrimage exercise with the deployment, for the first time, of a Boeing 777-300 aircraft with a seating capacity of over 500 pilgrims. This marks the largest aircraft ever used in Nigeria for the airlift of Christian pilgrims to the Holy Land.
