BREAKING:Senate Donates N50m to Families of Fallen Oyo Rescue Heroes
The Nigerian Senate has announced a donation of N50 million to the families of the five security personnel who lost their lives during the rescue operation of the abducted Oriire schoolchildren and their teachers in Oyo State.
President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, made the announcement during plenary in Abuja, stating that each of the bereaved families would receive N10 million as support.
The abduction of the Oriire pupils, during which some of the victims lost their lives, attracted widespread criticism from several quarters and placed the government under pressure to ensure the safe rescue of the schoolchildren and their teachers.
