The Nigerian media industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of veteran journalist and Publisher of The Eagle Online, Dotun Oladipo, who died on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at the age of 56.

Oladipo, a former Politics Editor of PUNCH newspapers, reportedly appeared to be in his usual state of health earlier in the day before suddenly taking ill at his office.
According to information obtained by NewsmakersNG, Oladipo was at his office when he began feeling unwell and reportedly decided to drive himself to a hospital for medical attention. He, however, suffered what was suspected to be a heart attack during the emergency and was subsequently pronounced dead.
