Nigerian music sensation Testimony Jaga has expressed disagreement with former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo over his recent comments on the gospel.
Osinbajo has come under criticism from the gospel artist and others following his remarks on the “prosperity gospel” doctrine.

The former Vice President, who is also a pastor, had earlier dismissed the belief that wealth and physical well-being are assured outcomes of faith, stating that such teachings are not part of core Christian doctrine.

He made the statement during a live discussion at Rock of Ages Christian Assembly International, where he addressed points raised by Pastor Korede Komaiya.
In response, Testimony Jaga, in a widely circulated video, disagreed with Osinbajo’s position, insisting that the message of the gospel covers both spiritual and material aspects.
“There’s no such thing. There’s only a gospel, the gospel of Jesus Christ, sir,” he stated.
The singer also raised concerns about the distinction made between prosperity teachings and the broader Christian message, stressing the importance of a more holistic interpretation.
The exchange has triggered renewed debate within Nigeria’s Christian community, highlighting differing views on how the gospel should be interpreted and the place of prosperity teachings in contemporary ministry.
Observers note that the conversation reflects wider discussions on theology and the influence of church leaders in shaping doctrinal understanding.
