“They Took Everything, But I’m Thankful to Be Alive” — Widow of U.S. Citizen Freed After Abuja Kidnap Ordeal

Mary Moore, a widow of an American citizen, has been rescued after enduring 72 hours in captivity following her abduction while en route to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Family sources confirmed that Moore was kidnapped on September 8, 2025, around 5:30 p.

m. in Wuse Zone 3, Abuja, while heading to catch an Air Peace flight to Lagos.
She was scheduled to attend a U.S. immigration visa interview the next morning.

According to security operatives, she was seized by armed men and taken to an undisclosed location, which was later traced to neighboring Nasarawa State.

“The team kept tracking and searching until she was eventually found on September 11, almost unconscious, in a community in Kubwa, Abuja,” a security source revealed.

The abductors reportedly dispossessed Moore of $2,000 and other valuables before abandoning her.

Though visibly shaken by the ordeal, Moore has been discharged from the hospital and is said to be recovering well.
