Tinubu Opens Mabushi Roads, Promises More Projects

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commissioned Collector Roads 01 and 02 in Mabushi District of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), reaffirming his administration’s commitment to building a modern and interconnected capital city where no community is left behind.

Speaking at the inauguration in Abuja, President Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, described infrastructure as the foundation of economic growth, national unity, and improved quality of life.
He said the newly completed roads would enhance connectivity within Mabushi and the wider FCT, reduce travel time, boost commercial activities, and improve access to opportunities for residents.
According to him, the commissioning of Collector Roads 01 and 02 is part of the FCT Administration’s broad infrastructure drive aimed at improving mobility, opening up new districts for development, and enhancing the quality of life for residents across Abuja.
“Our vision remains clear: a world-class capital that works for every resident, whether you live in Asokoro or Kuje, in Wuse or Gwagwalada. Interconnectivity is how we get there, one road at a time, one district at a time, until no community is left behind,” Tinubu said.
He urged Nigerians to continue supporting his administration, assuring them that more roads, jobs, and development projects would be delivered across the country.
The President also appreciated residents of the FCT for their patience during the construction period, acknowledging the inconvenience caused by traffic diversions and dust while assuring them that their sacrifice would yield lasting benefits.
Tinubu commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barrister Nyesom Wike, for his commitment to transforming Abuja through focused leadership and timely execution of projects.
“Wike, you have continued to show what focused leadership can achieve. Your energy, your insistence on delivery, and your refusal to accept excuses are why the FCT is transforming under this administration. Nigerians see it. I see it. Well done,” he said.
Earlier, the FCT Minister, Mr. Nyesom Wike, thanked President Tinubu for his unwavering support, noting that the inauguration formed part of the ongoing 31-day project commissioning marking the administration’s third anniversary.
He explained that the President had directed that every district in the Federal Capital Territory should experience meaningful development, a mandate the administration has consistently pursued.
Wike highlighted recent projects, including the Jahi-Gwarimpa Interchange, and disclosed that additional road projects in satellite towns would also be commissioned before the end of the exercise.
He stressed that roads remain the foundation of development, pointing out that the newly commissioned infrastructure had already attracted housing and real estate investments to the Mabushi area.
“Look at this road and look at the houses springing up around it. Without this road, these developments would not have happened. Roads stimulate economic activities and increase the value of communities,” Wike stated.
He attributed the transformation of Abuja to President Tinubu’s courageous and result-oriented leadership, thanking him for consistently approving the resources needed to execute projects across the FCT.
Also speaking, the Minister of State for the FCT, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud, praised President Tinubu for providing visionary leadership through the Renewed Hope Agenda, describing him as a leader committed to national renewal and sustainable development.
Mahmoud urged residents of the Federal Capital Territory to protect the newly completed roads and other public infrastructure, stressing that preserving them would ensure lasting benefits for future generations.
