Tor Tiv Receives Agro Machine Innovator in Gboko, Urges Training of Youths

The Paramount Ruler of the Tiv nation, HRM Orcivirigh Prof. James Ayatse, has received Engr. Jacob Tyo, a Gboko-based manufacturer of various agro-processing machines, granting him royal blessings for his innovations.

Welcoming Engr. Tyo to his palace in Gboko, the Tor Tiv commended his technological exploits and expressed joy over the breakthrough.

He noted that he has always prayed for technological advancement that would foster prosperity for the Tiv nation, and thanked God for answering those prayers through the young machine manufacturer.

Professor Ayatse encouraged Engr. Tyo to train and engage other youths in producing similar machines to further boost agricultural business in Tiv land. He assured him of his full support in realizing his vision of replacing hard labour with mechanized farming and pledged to help him connect with relevant authorities for financial assistance and sponsorship.

Earlier, while demonstrating the latest agro-tiller he constructed in his Gboko workshop, Engr. Tyo told the Tor Tiv that the difficulties faced by farmers inspired him to develop machines that would ease their burden. He explained that his inventions aim to promote mechanized farming, increase productivity, and add more value to farmers’ labour.

He also expressed his commitment to training over 40 youths, equipping them with technological skills to become self-reliant, if given adequate support. According to him, he has more innovative ideas, including machines for rice harvesting and other agro-processing solutions that would benefit farmers in Benue and beyond.

Describing his visit to the Tor Tiv as a remarkable milestone, Engr. Tyo said the blessings and encouragement from “our great father” would inspire him to deliver more innovations and bring technological solutions closer to farmers in the state.
