Transfer Battle: Barcelona, Real Madrid Eye Stuttgart Star
Barcelona manager, Hansi Flick, is keen to sign Stuttgart defender Finn Jeltsch in the January transfer window, despite interest from Real Madrid.
According to Diario SPORT, Flick has identified Jeltsch as his preferred target and will have to compete with Real Madrid for the defender’s signature.
Flick wants to strengthen his central defence options following Andreas Christensen’s injury.
Meanwhile, Gerard Martin’s performances have declined compared to last season, while Eric Garcia and Jules Kounde sustained injuries against Real Betis.
Jeltsch is reportedly valued at around €50 million by Stuttgart, although it remains to be seen whether Barcelona will eventually secure his signature.
The 20-year-old, who received a call-up to the Germany national team in September, is regarded as one of the rising stars of German football.
