Troops Eliminate Bandit, Destroy Hideouts in Benue Clearance Operation

Troops of the 401 Special Forces Brigade, Sector 1, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), in collaboration with local hunters, have conducted a clearance operation around Tatyough in Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue State.

According to Captain Abdullahi Lawal Osabo, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, the troops encountered suspected bandits during an escort mission for a bereaved family to Tse-Ayele village.

One of the bandits was neutralized near Tse-Akaajime village, while others fled, abandoning two Tecno mobile phones and three motorcycles.

All identified bandit camps in the area were demolished to prevent the criminals from regrouping. Troops remain stationed in Tatyough, carrying out regular patrols to maintain security.

Acting Commander, Colonel K.O. Bukoye, commended the troops for their dedication and urged them to stay alert in the ongoing fight against criminal activities in the state.
