Arochukwu/Ohafia — An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Ifeanyi Ogbonna, has urged Nigerians to use the Christmas season to promote peace, love and unity, in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ.
In his Christmas message, Ogbonna called for sober reflection on the nation’s challenges and encouraged citizens to recommit themselves to values that foster national cohesion and harmony.
He described the birth of Jesus Christ as a powerful symbol of love, sacrifice, humility and peace, noting that these virtues are essential for Nigeria’s progress. According to him, Christmas serves as a reminder of love, unity, selflessness and moral uprightness, which he urged residents of Arochukwu and Ohafia to uphold in their daily lives.
Ogbonna further stated that Christmas goes beyond religious boundaries, as it strengthens family ties and celebrates the most meaningful gifts of life. He encouraged Nigerians to pray for their leaders, stressing that collective goodwill and shared responsibility are vital for national stability and development.
Speaking on governance, Ogbonna expressed optimism about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s proposed ₦58.47 trillion 2026 budget, noting that its focus on infrastructure, security and economic growth would have positive impacts on the country. He said increased capital expenditure would help stimulate investment and create employment opportunities for Nigerians.
He also commended notable leaders, including Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Hon. Benjamin Kalu and others, for their roles in providing leadership and direction in Abia North.
Ogbonna concluded by calling on Nigerians to show kindness and compassion to the less privileged, emphasizing that generosity and care for one another reflect the true spirit of Christmas. He urged citizens to allow kindness to guide their actions towards a happier and more prosperous new year.
Ifeanyi Ogbonna has consistently advocated peace, love and unity in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ.
