The Commander General of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Dr. Usman Mohammed Jahun, has extended Christmas greetings to Christians, especially officers and men of the organisation, as they mark this year’s Yuletide.

In his Christmas message, Dr. Jahun urged Christians to use the season to pray for unity, peace, development, and the continued corporate existence of Nigeria.
He also emphasized the need for renewed dedication to the service of God and humanity during the period.
According to him, the 2025 Christmas celebration calls for sober reflection in view of the prevailing situation in the country.
The Commander General disclosed that VGN officers across the 36 states of the federation and all 774 local government areas have been fully mobilized to complement the efforts of formal security agencies in maintaining law and order, as well as safeguarding lives and property during and after the Christmas festivities.
He stressed that officers and men of the group must shun any acts capable of undermining the goals and objectives of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria.
While advising Nigerians to promptly report suspicious activities to relevant security agencies, Dr. Jahun noted that the responsibility of protecting lives and property rests on everyone.
He reaffirmed VGN’s unwavering support for the realization of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in the area of security.
The Commander General, who described training and retraining as critical to enhanced productivity, revealed that VGN has outlined various security and intelligence-gathering programmes for its officers and men in 2026 aimed at combating banditry, kidnapping, Boko Haram, and other forms of crime and criminality nationwide.
He therefore appealed to the Federal, State, and Local Governments to support VGN with logistics to strengthen its fight against insecurity across the country.
