Reality TV star and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Tochi Okechukwu, has sparked widespread debate on social media after stating that ₦1 million is no longer a significant amount in today’s Nigeria.

In a reflective post shared on Instagram, Tochi reminisced about a time when ₦1 million was seen as a financial breakthrough.

However, he noted that things have drastically changed, and such an amount now holds far less weight.

“I remember when ₦1 million naira was a big deal, now everyone has it in their bank account,” he wrote, suggesting that the once-coveted sum has become commonplace — a sign of the naira’s diminishing value and rising inflation.

Tochi’s remark quickly gained traction, triggering conversations around Nigeria’s economic struggles, the dwindling purchasing power of the naira, and the rising cost of living.

In another trending story, Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson has dismissed widespread perceptions labeling him a womaniser.

During an appearance on The Culture League podcast alongside Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface and comedian Bovi, the 38-year-old actor addressed the rumor, attributing it to his public image rather than reality. He revealed that his demanding Nollywood schedule leaves no room for such a lifestyle.
