A gospel singer, Matthew Ogundele, alongside three members of his crew, has been found dead inside a music studio located in the Abraham Adesanya area of Ajah, Lagos State.
The deceased crew members were identified as Itunu Ogundele, Joseph Sanya, and a blogger, Matthew Awosanya, popularly known as JoesTv.

Findings revealed that the victims had been invited to minister on Tuesday during the second day of a three-day birthday praise programme organised by a female gospel artiste, Olanireti Akinbola.
A police source disclosed on Saturday that the artistes concluded their session late and opted to spend the night in the studio, where their lifeless bodies were discovered the following morning, Wednesday.
According to the source, the convener had invited several gospel artistes to minister at the three-day birthday praise event, which commenced on Monday. Segun Praise was scheduled to minister on the second day and attended the programme with his crew. The event, which began in the evening, extended late into the night, prompting them to stay overnight at the studio. Their bodies were reportedly found the next morning.
A Christian blog, Omojesu, also reported via a Facebook post seen on Saturday that the deceased were unable to return home due to the distance and decided to lodge at the studio. The post further alleged that they died in their sleep.
It was further gathered that the incident was reported at the Ajiwe Police Station, Ajah, while friends and colleagues of the deceased have taken to social media to demand justice.
Images circulating online showed blood stains from the noses, ears, and mouths of the victims, raising concerns and speculations about the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, said the case was reported on Wednesday by the studio owner, Akintayo Akinbola, who is also the husband of the celebrant.
She explained that Akintayo stated he had left the artistes at his studio, located within the HFP Shopping Complex, on Tuesday night after purchasing food for them as they prepared for a music concert, before returning home.
According to Adebisi, Akintayo returned to the studio around 11 a.m. on Wednesday and found the door locked from the inside. After raising alarm and forcing the door open with assistance, the bodies of the four artistes were discovered inside the studio.
She added that detectives visited the scene, took photographs, and observed no visible signs of violence on the bodies.
“The corpses were taken to the Mainland Hospital, Yaba, where a medical doctor confirmed them dead. They were subsequently deposited at the Mainland General Hospital mortuary, Yaba, for autopsy and preservation,” Adebisi said.
She further noted that the matter has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba, for comprehensive investigation.
