Concerned about the growing speculations of possible prefered and anointed governorship candidate for 2027, governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has demised having a replacement in the state.
This is even as the governor has declared that no government official is under the watch of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in the state.
Governor Sule who spoke through his Senior Special Assistance on public Affairs, Comrade Peter Ahemba during an interactive session with Journalists in Lafia, dismissed speculations by some politicians in the State that the governor have already a replacement for 2027.
According to governor Sule, his administration remains committed to delivering on his mandate and serving the people of the State and is not given into things things that would distract him..
“We hereby make it categorically clear that Governor Abdullahi Sule has not and will not anoint any candidate to succeed him in 2027. Any appointee supporting such a claim is a sign of insubordination. Governor Sule will not condone such act henceforth.
“The public should ignore politicians claiming to be government’s candidates for the seat of governorship for 2027. At the appropriate time, the people of Nasarawa will decide who they choose to be governor in 2027,” he stated.
He urged the governor’s appointees who have political ambition to desist from heating up the polity and wait for the right time to sell their ambitions to the electorate, warning that any distractive tendency would no longer be tolerated.
He said the Governor Sule administration was focused on providing the dividends of democracy to the people within the remaining last two years it has to wind up.
He said the ongoing infrastructural development across the state, including the signature projects such as the Lafia Flyover and Underpass and that of Akwanga, as well as the proposed Keffi Flyover, were part of the dividends of democracy.
He urged the public to support the administration to continue to uplift their standard of living within the remaining timeline.
The state government clearly denies claims by supporters that a successor has been anointed. These claims are entirely false, without merit and designed to cause confusion and misinformation.h
