A political group, Renewed Interfaith Movement Nigeria, as registered over 200 support groups in Benue State to work for the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the State Governor Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia come 2027 general elections.
The National Director of the Movement, who also doubles as the Director, North Central Amalgamated Forum for President Tinubu, disclosed this after a meeting with a cross section of Tinubu support groups in Makurdi, the Benue state capital, on Tuesday.
He said “We are here officially registering and accrediting support groups inclusion for Tinubu/Alia in Benue State. We are officially registering them into the Amalgamated Support Group for Tinubu/Alia in Benue State.
He explained that the essence of the group is “work and victory. We are here to work for the victorious return of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Alia and to make sure that 2027 is a success for them.”
While noting that more groups were being expected to come forward for registration by Wednesday, April 8, 2026, King Samuel said they have registered over 200 support groups so far.
Addressing the groups’ executives during the meeting, King Samuel urged them to see themselves as part of policy makers saying politics is an act of policy making and they should be proud to be part of the group that would henceforth make policies that would impact and change lives.
He told them work for anyone in the state who is part of the renewed hope family saying “whether they like it or not, Tinubu and Alia would come back in 2027.
He therefore stated that “We are setting a result oriented initiative. Many of you have worked for other leaders in the past without results and you worked in vain. This time, as strong believers in APC, we are engaging you in productive campaigns and assignments where you will achieve results and your labour will not be in vain.”
He reminded them of the up coming Tinubu/Alia Solidarity March slated for April 20, 2026 and advised all groups leaders to mobilize their members towards what he described as a “Capacity Show” and to come together and work hard under the forum for the victorious return of both leaders, saying their handiwork and democracy dividends which are evidential, productive as well as progressive, has changed Nigeria and Benue state in particular.
Earlier, the State Coordinator Renewed Hope Interfaith Movement, Bishop Mike Angou, while explaining that the gathering is an interfaith movement to garner support for re-election of the President Tinubu, Governor Alia and any other person within the state APC, said they are committed to seeing that the initiative is successful in the state.
Angou who spoke through the Coordinator of the Muslim Directorate, Alhaji Baba Ahmed said they are working with Imams, Christian and Islamic scholars to mobilize for the upcoming one million man march adding “By God’s grace, it is going to be successful for the reelection of the President.
“Additionally, we’ve been seeing how interested parties are coming to register. We have support groups from various local governments coming to add value to what we are doing. We believe that the initiative is going to be very, successful. So we are screening them to ensure they have their credentials, such as registration certificates and other documents that will guarantee their enrollment.”
Baba said the President and Governor Alia have done well and there was need to give them opportunity to consolidate and complete what they have started.
He appreciated the National Director of the Movement for being such to Benue state saying it was the first time in the history of Benue State, 50 years after creation that someone is bringing a political group on interfaith basis.
“We are not here to compete as Christians and Muslims but to work together for the good of Benue and Nigeria as a whole.”
Other speakers, the Coordinator of the Christian Directorate, Paul Ochomma, urged all groups to take the movement as their project and invest their all to make it a success promising they would not regret being part of it while Evangelist Rita Aato and Hajia Rabi Tijanni, Christian and Muslim Women leaders of Renewed Hope Interfaith Movement, urged the men to release their wives to partake in the movement just as they pledged to mobilize women across the state for the successful reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Hyacinth Alia come 2027.
