The 20th edition of the Abuja International Trade Fair (AITF) came to a close on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, with a strong call for business innovation and national economic development.
Speaking at the closing ceremony in Abuja, the President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), Chief Emeka Obegolu, commended all exhibitors, participants, and stakeholders for their immense contributions to the success of the event.
Represented by the 1st Deputy President of ACCI, Prof. Adesoji Adesugba, Chief Obegolu described the 13-day fair as “highly successful, bigger, and more impactful than previous editions.”
He noted that the fair provided an excellent platform for start-ups, SMEs, and multinational corporations to showcase innovations, network, and expand their market reach.
Reaffirming ACCI’s commitment to promoting trade, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development, Chief Obegolu emphasized that for two decades, the Chamber has consistently championed initiatives aimed at driving business growth and sustainable economic progress within the FCT and across Nigeria.
He also highlighted the Chamber’s four specialized centres—the Abuja Trade Centre (ATC), Business, Entrepreneurial Skills and Technology (BEST) Centre, Policy Advocacy Centre (PAC), and the Dispute Resolution Centre (DRC)—as key platforms supporting entrepreneurship, policy reform, and conflict resolution to enhance business prosperity in a dynamic economy.
Chief Obegolu commended various trade groups, including those in the oil and gas, transport, manufacturing, SMEs, law and development, and climate change sectors, describing them as vital partners in promoting collaboration and advancing policies that strengthen the business community.
He expressed appreciation to exhibitors, sponsors, and participants for their commitment, while giving special recognition to the ACCI Executive Committee and Council, Director General Mr. Agabaidu Jideani, and the management team for their tireless efforts in making the 20th edition memorable.
The ACCI President also acknowledged the media for their comprehensive coverage and support in amplifying the fair’s goals.
Looking ahead, Chief Obegolu expressed optimism that the 21st Abuja International Trade Fair, slated for 2026, would be “bigger, better, and even more fulfilling,” reaffirming ACCI’s dedication to advancing business interests and driving national economic growth.
A key highlight of the closing ceremony was the presentation of awards to outstanding exhibitors and participants for their innovation and contributions.
Earlier, ACCI Director General Mr. Agabaidu Jideani appreciated stakeholders for their continued partnership and officially announced that the 21st Abuja International Trade Fair will hold from September 26 to October 6, 2026.
