Abuja: WMU Of First Baptist Church, Gwagwalada Marks 2025 Focus Week As Cleric Tasks Christian Mothers On Fasting And Prayer
Women Missionary Union, WMU, of First Baptist Church, Gwagwalada Abuja has marked this year’s WMU Focus Week with the theme “Entering Into Newness Through Prayer and Fasting”.
In a sermon to mark the Focus Week in Gwagwalada Abuja, the Minister in charge of the Church, Reverend Deji Oyelami advised christian mothers to always uphold honesty, faithfulness and righteousness in their service to God and humanity.
Taking his text from the book of Ezra chapter 8 verse 23, Reverend Oyelami also enjoined them to develop keen interest in fasting and prayer to ensure breakthrough both in their families and endeavours.
He equally reminded christian mothers to train their children in the way of the Lord to ensure the betterment of the society and secured a successful future for them.
The Baptist Cleric who noted that the present situation of the country could only be overcome through obedience to God’s commandments as well as fasting and prayer stressed the need for them to be deligent and transparent in their endeavours to attract divine blessings.
While admonishing them to serve God in truth and Holiness, Reverend Deji Oyelami urged christian women to always be good ambassadors in their deeds and conduct wherever they found themselves.
In a remark, the President of Women Missionary Union, WMU, of the Church, Mrs Helen Moneyin said the Annual Focus Week is to reawakening the consciousness of members in their service to God and humanity.
Mrs Moneyin therefore called on WMU members of the Church to always put into practice the lessons of this year’s focus week which centered on entering newness through fasting and prayer.
Some members of the Church’s WMU expressed gratitude to God for witnessing this year’s focus week adding that the theme of the celebration would further strengthen them in their spiritual life.
