National Unity: Gov. Sule calls for professionalism, National Unity amongst military

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has called on the Nigerian Army to remain committed to professionalism in carrying out its mandate of ensuring national unity and safeguarding the country’s territorial integrity.

The governor made the call at the annual West African Social Activities (WASA) celebration of the Nigerian Army, held at the 4 Special Forces Command in Doma Local Government Area.

The West African Social Activities (WASA) is a longstanding tradition in the Nigerian Army, providing officers and soldiers an opportunity to unwind with their families after a year of intense military operations.

Speaking at the event, Governor Sule, represented by Deputy Governor Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, commended the Army’s unwavering commitment to national security and unity.

He urged troops to remain resilient and dedicated despite challenges, assuring them of the state government’s continued support to enhance their operations.

In his remarks, the Commander of the 4 Special Forces Command, Major General Hillary Nzan, emphasized the importance of strengthening military-civilian collaboration to ensure effective operations.

He appreciated the Nasarawa State Government, traditional institutions, and community leaders for their support, particularly in intelligence sharing to enhance security.

The event featured cultural performances showcasing Nigeria’s rich heritage, a tug-of-war contest, and the presentation of awards to six outstanding soldiers.
