A former Nigerian adult film actress known by her stage name “Le_Witch” has announced her retirement from the porn industry and her engagement to an unnamed man, sparking a wave of criticism on social media.

The actress, who gained popularity on X (formerly Twitter) for posting explicit photos and videos, shared news of her engagement on the same platform.

She posted a photo of herself with her fiancé, reportedly taken during their engagement ceremony.

However, the announcement drew a barrage of harsh reactions from netizens, many of whom ridiculed the man for choosing to marry a woman known for her past in adult entertainment. Several users questioned whether the fiancé truly understood the public nature of her former work, referring to her as “for the public.”

The backlash appeared to intensify shortly after the post, prompting Le_Witch to deactivate her X account entirely, likely in response to the insults directed at her partner.

Her retirement follows a similar announcement made by another Nigerian adult film actress, Maami Igbogbo, who also declared she was leaving the industry earlier this year.

Although Maami Igbogbo first announced her exit in February, the public largely ignored the news. However, she reaffirmed her decision earlier this month with a video showing her dressed in a white sutana — the signature garment of the Celestial Church of Christ and the Cherubim and Seraphim church — while holding a Bible.

Despite her departure, much of Maami Igbogbo’s adult content reportedly remains available online.
