One of the most painful aspects of Peace’s ordeal is that she was pregnant at the time of her arrest and had to give birth under the harsh conditions of a Malaysian prison.

What should have been a joyful moment of motherhood quickly became another chapter of sorrow.

Sharing her story on Brekete Family, Peace narrated to the Ordinary President how her newborn baby was taken away from her and sent back to Nigeria.

She remained in prison while the child was handed over to the very man she said had framed her.

According to her, arrangements were made through the Nigerian embassy to send the baby home. She had no voice in the decision and could only watch helplessly as her child was taken, deepening her pain.

In her words:
“Two of my children are with him now, including the one I gave birth to in prison. He collected him from my hand. When they sent the child back, he collected the child. From Malaysia, through our embassy.

Were you at the airport to collect the child? No, I was still in prison when they signed for the child to come. They couldn’t release you from prison, but they could collect the child? Sir, I stayed in prison for 12 years. The child was three years old, but he was sick because of lack of good food, so they sent him back early. It was his father that went to collect the child from the airport.”
