UPDATED: Nnamdi Kanu Sentenced to Life Imprisonment

Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja has handed down a life imprisonment sentence to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Earlier, Justice Omotosho found Kanu guilty on all seven terrorism-related charges, stating that the prosecution’s evidence stood unchallenged.

For counts 1, 4, 5, and 6, the judge imposed a life sentence. He also issued a 20-year prison term without an option of fine for count 3, and a 5-year sentence without an option of fine for count 7.
