Faze Remains Neutral in My Dispute With Blackface — 2Face
Nigerian music star Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Face, has clarified the position of his former bandmate, Faze, in the long-standing disagreement between him and another ex-member of their defunct group, Blackface.
Over the years, Blackface and 2Face have been locked in a recurring feud, with
Blackface repeatedly accusing 2Face of intellectual property theft—claims the award-winning singer has consistently refuted.
Speaking to fans during his performance at the Made in Benue Festival held recently in Makurdi, 2Face stated that Faze has chosen to stay neutral and is not involved in the dispute between him and Blackface.
According to 2Face, the ongoing disagreement has nothing to do with Faze and should not be linked to him in any way.
“You all know that Plantashun Boiz was made up of Blackface, 2Face and Faze. But due to certain unforeseen circumstances, Blackface is not with us at the moment.
“However, no matter the issue between me and Blackface, it has nothing to do with Faze. That’s why Faze is here with me, and together we will represent Plantashun Boiz,” he said.
The conflict between Blackface and 2Face dates back to the early 2000s, following the breakup of Plantashun Boiz. After the group disbanded, Blackface accused 2Face of being responsible for the split and alleged that he stole some of his songs.
Despite several attempts at reconciliation over the years, the relationship between the two artistes has remained strained, with peace efforts proving largely unsuccessful and short-lived.
