The Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested three suspects over alleged involvement in kidnapping, robbery and theft across different parts of the state.

The arrests were disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday in Lafia, the state capital, by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSC Jerry Victor.

According to the statement, one of the suspects, Muktar Shuaibu, a 27-year-old man from Kwandere Village in Lafia Local Government Area, was apprehended in connection with a kidnapping-related incident.
Victor explained that Shuaibu, alongside an accomplice identified as Ogobon, who is currently at large, allegedly attacked an elderly Fulani man in Bassa Village, Doma Local Government Area, while attempting to dispossess him of his motorcycle.
The victim was reportedly rescued by passers-by, an intervention that led to the arrest of Shuaibu. He was subsequently handed over to Operation Whirl Stroke of the Nigerian Army for further investigation and necessary action.
“In a related development, the command also arrested Haruna Jibrin, a 43-year-old man from Ungwan Liman, Lafia, on January 2, 2026, in connection with robbery and the theft of tin ore minerals valued at over ₦3.5 million,” the statement added.
Victor noted that Jibrin is currently cooperating with investigators and has provided useful information that could lead to the arrest of other fleeing members of the syndicate.
