Ihe Di Gi Mma: The lyrics That Speak Truth.
By Dr jarlat Uche opara
Released recently by Chinyere Udoma, one of the popular Nigeria gospel singers. Currently trending on the Internet.
To some, she uses some vulgar words that the ears of the saints and angels in human flesh, the deputy Jesus would tingle if they hear them. Truthfully such have been the bane of our lives as Christians— hypocrisyShe talked about fornication, adultery, homosexuality, fingerings etc which when translated into Igbo language became vulgar to the ears of the sanctimonious.
— akuko.I have listened to that lyrics more than once, the truth is , “Ihe Di Gi Mma” by Chinyere Udoma is classic. It comes with a punchy reminder of who we are in our natural state where flesh ravages, holding us down with passion so irresistible, driving us crazy with imaginations ,so tickling, unsettling our mind only indulgence to its suggestions would have our system settled.
Chinyere Udoma was sincere. She wasn’t pretentious about the overwhelming influence of the flesh on human body, she recognises the surge of pressure the flesh daily mounts and defiantly supervises the execution of its thoughts, feelings, suggestions etc in our human system.
What we see in many homes, churches, offices etc are an unapologetical expression of the flesh. When a pastor who speaks fire on the altar in one moment and engages in “Ntu” in another moment or “iru aka” etc nothing but a chronic infestation of the pills of the flesh in their system.
The flesh is powerful. Deny this and treat it with levity at your peril. We are at the beck and call of the flesh, only those helped by grace whose spirit man has grown and mature in spiritual matters would fight and win the battle of the flesh, daily running riots in our minds.
Flesh isn’t a child’s play, its orchestrations not a walk in the park and its manipulations not a tea party. From the high level of anointing, where tongues blast, deliverance orchestrated and miracles birthed, the flesh would come and pull down with shame and disgrace that soul that leaves a careless life.
In this 2026 “Ihe Di Gi Mma” should be a song that should be listened by any soul that wants to live a spirit filled life. Look for the song and make it a daily must listen gospel song.
Congratulations Chinyere Udoma for that pill in the form of gospel song. A cry of helplessness before the all powerful flesh, asking God’s grace to develop tough skin to the daily irresistible demands of the flesh on our mind and psyche.
Anybody that listens to the song and complains about the use of Igbo to expose fornication, homosexuality, fingering etc must be afraid of the light of morality, godliness etc exposing the darkness of their life of depravity and immorality
