FCT Area Council Elections Lead to Postponement of GCIC’s “Abuja Power Touch” Programme
The leadership of God’s City International Church (GCIC), Abuja, has announced a one-week postponement of its “Special Abuja Power Touch Night” earlier scheduled for today, Friday, February 20, 2026.
According to a statement issued by the Church Administration, the programme will now take place on Friday, February 27, 2026.
The Church explained that the decision was taken following the official announcement by the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Minister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, and directives from the Federal Capital Territory Police Command concerning the restriction of movement across the FCT ahead of the Area Council Elections set for Saturday, February 21, 2026.
“In compliance with the security measures and in the interest of the safety and convenience of our members and guests, the programme will now hold on Friday, February 27, 2026, with the venue and time remaining unchanged.
“We encourage all members to participate peacefully in the electoral process and to continue praying for peaceful and credible elections within the Federal Capital Territory.
“We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Kindly share this information across all church platforms and groups.”
